Medical & Health Questions

Is this a substitute for my doctor?

No. DiabetesDayOne provides general educational information only. It is designed to help you understand your diagnosis and have better conversations with your care team — not to replace your doctor, PA, or NP. Always consult your healthcare provider before making changes to your diet, activity level, or treatment plan.

Is this course for type 1 or type 2 diabetes?

This course is specifically designed for adults with type 2 diabetes or pre-diabetes. It is not appropriate for type 1 diabetes, as the mechanisms, management, and treatment are significantly different.

Does the course cover medications?

No. DiabetesDayOne does not address specific medications. Medication decisions are highly individualized and should always be made in partnership with your healthcare provider. This course focuses on understanding your diagnosis, nutrition, movement, sleep, stress, and the emotional side of a new diagnosis.

Can this course help me reverse or cure my diabetes?

We do not make cure or reversal claims. DiabetesDayOne is an educational resource focused on helping you understand your diagnosis and take practical first steps. Some people do achieve remission through lifestyle changes, but that is not a guaranteed outcome and is not the goal of this course.

I was just diagnosed. Is it too soon to take this course?

This course is designed specifically for people who were recently diagnosed. The earlier you have access to clear, accurate information, the better equipped you will be to work with your care team and feel confident about your next steps.

I've been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes for years, would this be helpful for me?

Yes! Many of the aspects of this course are from conversations from individuals who have been diagnosed for years in the past and new onset diabetics. There are common themes that show up over time that often get overlooked. This course addresses many of these items.
